BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT 2008

 

 

In 2008, NCEDC attracted a national award-winning online survey marketing company as well as a global engineering project development fi rm. Although the national economy has impacted the pace of corporate relocations, our prospect pipeline activity going into 2009 has an increase of about 20% over 2007.

Business Development Activity over the past 12 months:


  • Submitted 296 properties to 72 prospects interested in Larimer County.
    A 77% and 18% increase respectively over the previous 12 months

  • Staff hosted 28 prospect visits, a 12% increase over 2007

  • Announced Constant Contact, a leading provider of e-mail marketing and online surveys for business. Located it’s second US facility in Loveland and will create over 400 jobs over the next 4 years. They are currently building
    a 50,000 sq. ft. office building in Centerra Business Park.

  • Announced VEi Global, a fi rm providing industrial project management, engineering, construction management and start-up services worldwide.
    Expanding into it’s third US facility near Windsor and will create 15 high
    tech jobs. Headquartered in Fargo, ND, VEi has offi ces in Florida and is considering expanding into Russia and Argentina.

  • Representing 415 new jobs for residents, adding more than $14 million in aggregate payroll

Industry Cluster Targeting
In 2008, the NCEDC focused on exploiting the unique advantages of Larimer
County in the clean energy and biosciences clusters.

  • Exhibitor at BIO 2008 International Conference

  • Attended BioWest connecting with firms in the Rocky Mountain Region

  • Networked at Colorado BioScience Association Conferences to promote developing technologies in the area

  • Hosted Spanish delegation interested in clean energy investment opportunities in Northern Colorado

  • Joined Governor’s Clean Energy and Bioscience Trade Mission to
    Canada to promote Northern Colorado opportunities

  • Completed new high-value Clean Energy and Biosciences prospect identification system through regional Asset Maps and Valued-Added Business Cases

  • Participation in regional Clean Energy SWOT analysis managed by the Northern Colorado Clean Energy Cluster
